Alli Officially Receives INEC Nomination Form, Begins Oyo Governorship Campaign

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 Oyo State election, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has officially received his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form, marking the formal commencement of his campaign for the state’s top office.

The presentation ceremony, held in Ibadan, also featured the unveiling of Hon. Michael Adesoji Adedeji as Alli’s running mate.

Adedeji, an Economics graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, hails from Iwo-Ate in Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Speaking at the event, the Oyo State APC Chairman, Alhaji Moses Adeyemo, urged party members to remain united and committed to ensuring the party’s victory in the 2027 governorship election. He stressed the need for reconciliation among party faithful to strengthen the APC’s chances at the polls.

Presenting the nomination form, APC Deputy National Auditor, Chief George Mogaji, described Alli as the party’s standard-bearer and called on members across the state to support his candidacy.

In his acceptance speech, Alli expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC leadership, party members, and security agencies for their support throughout the nomination process. He also appealed to all aggrieved members of the party to embrace unity and work together toward reclaiming Oyo State for the APC.

The APC governorship candidate pledged to provide transparent, accountable, and inclusive leadership if elected, promising to prioritize infrastructure development, economic growth, quality education, healthcare, and improved welfare for the people of Oyo State.

The ceremony was attended by party leaders, stakeholders, National and State Assembly candidates, youth and women groups, as well as supporters from across the state, who reaffirmed their commitment to delivering victory for the APC in the 2027 governorship election.
