The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has strengthened its collaboration with Open Government Partnership (OGP) stakeholders in a renewed effort to entrench transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance across Nigeria.

At a high-level meeting held in Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development and OGP Nigeria Co-Chair, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to embedding open governance values. He emphasized that youth inclusion remains a critical pillar of the Renewed Hope Agenda and national development, stressing the importance of instilling civic consciousness, ethical leadership, and collective responsibility among Nigerian youth.

Minister Olawande noted that the administration is deliberate in creating platforms where young people are not only seen but heard and actively engaged in shaping governance outcomes. He described the OGP as a trusted mechanism for sustained dialogue between government and non-state actors, especially in promoting accountability and transparency.

Also speaking, the CEO of the OGP Global Support Unit, Mr. Aiden Eyakuze, highlighted the importance of intergenerational mentorship and value reorientation, urging Nigeria to harness the energy of its youthful population alongside the wisdom of elder statesmen in building a resilient and responsive governance system.

The dialogue brought together key Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, alongside civil society leaders, who jointly pledged to deepen collaborative efforts that drive citizen engagement, institutional reforms, and delivery of public goods.

The meeting concluded with a unified resolve to promote open governance, uphold public trust, and ensure that Nigeria’s democratic processes remain inclusive, accountable, and forward-looking under President Tinubu’s leadership.
