

Okada, Edo State | August 3, 2025 – A serious road accident involving a commercial passenger vehicle belonging to Chi Boy Express Services has occurred along the Okada axis of the Benin–Ore–Lagos highway. The vehicle, which was en route to Lagos, crashed earlier today, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of property.
The crash caused several hours of heavy traffic gridlock, affecting other travelers on the busy route.

Emergency responders, including personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigerian Army, swiftly mobilized to the scene. Their coordinated efforts are currently focused on recovering the wreckage and restoring the free flow of traffic.
JOCOMMS reporter Moses Nwanze, who is at the scene of the accident, confirms that multiple lives have been lost, though the exact number is yet to be officially confirmed. Several passengers sustained injuries and were evacuated to nearby medical facilities for urgent care.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Authorities have urged road users to remain patient and cooperate with officials working to clear the scene.
