The Nigerian government, through Vice President Kashim Shettima, has committed unwavering support to Maryam Bukar Hassan, the United Nations’ first Global Advocate for Peace, as she leads efforts to promote peace and unity both in Nigeria and globally. During a visit to the Presidential Villa, VP Shettima praised Maryam’s impactful peace advocacy, especially her viral video “Violence has no Religion,” and highlighted her dedication to peace in her home state of Borno.

VP Shettima assured Maryam of the Renewed Hope administration’s pro-youth stance and pledged the full backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government to her mission. He emphasized the importance of unity and peace in Nigeria, noting the country’s abundant resources and the collective potential to transform lives through harmony and development.

Maryam Bukar Hassan shared her commitment to spreading peace worldwide, starting with Nigeria, which faces complex security challenges. She appealed for government collaboration to support her advocacy work and outlined plans to build a global coalition of young peace advocates over the next two years, aiming to amplify voices that promote harmony and stability.
