Ibadan, August 17, 2025 – The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Folajinmi Oyekunle, has been declared winner of the Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election held across the 12 wards on Saturday.
The Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Abiodun Oluwadare of the University of Ibadan, made the declaration at the collation centre, Ikolaba High School, Ibadan.
Oyekunle polled 18,404 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Adewale Olatunji (Murphy), who secured 8,312 votes.
Other candidates trailed far behind, with Femi Akin-Alamu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) scoring 88 votes, while Olabisi Olajumoke of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) recorded 40 votes.
