The United Kingdom has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic and trade reforms, describing them as bold, brave, and positive steps toward repositioning Nigeria’s economy.
British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, made the remarks during a courtesy visit to First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu at the State House, Abuja. He noted that the UK government sees new opportunities emerging from the reforms and highlighted the enhanced trade partnership between both nations. Montgomery also praised the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) for empowering women in education, health, and humanitarian services.
Responding, Senator Oluremi Tinubu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by Nigerians through the RHI, which aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. She stressed the importance of women’s representation in governance and pledged to support ongoing efforts to increase female participation in the National Assembly.
