The Federal Government has confirmed that it successfully met its 2025 revenue target, with the non-oil sector serving as the main driver of growth. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu described the achievement as proof that Nigeria’s economy is steadily diversifying beyond crude oil dependence.

According to the government, key contributors included agriculture, solid minerals, manufacturing, ICT, and services, all boosted by reforms that improved tax collection, curbed leakages, and attracted private sector investments. The Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms was also instrumental in broadening the tax base without placing undue burden on citizens.

Officials noted that the outcome aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, which places economic diversification at the heart of national development. By achieving this milestone, Nigeria has shown resilience against global oil price volatility and strengthened its foundation for sustainable, inclusive growth.
