BREAKING: NUPENG Suspends Nationwide Strike After Face-Off With Dangote Group

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has suspended its nationwide strike, bringing relief to Nigerians after days of heightened concern over fuel supply disruptions. The industrial action stemmed from a face-off between the union and the Dangote Group over unresolved labor disputes.

NUPENG announced the suspension on Tuesday following high-level interventions and assurances that the contentious issues would be addressed through dialogue. The strike, which had threatened to paralyze fuel distribution across the country, had sparked long queues at filling stations and raised fears of a nationwide energy crisis.

With the suspension, normal petroleum product supply and distribution are expected to gradually resume, while negotiations continue between the union, the Dangote Group, and relevant government stakeholders.
