The Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced a strategic partnership with Google and Apolitical to train public servants in Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance and innovation.

The initiative, titled the Apolitical Government AI Campus, aims to equip Nigerian civil servants with the knowledge and tools to responsibly apply AI in public administration. It forms part of President Tinubu’s broader digital transformation agenda designed to modernize the public service and enhance governance efficiency through technology.

The training programme is being spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. It will focus on developing AI capacity across various levels of government, beginning with senior decision-makers, followed by middle-level executives, and ultimately extending to all civil servants.

The online training modules will cover key areas such as AI fundamentals, ethical governance, leadership, and sector-specific applications. Participants will also gain access to expert-led learning sessions, frameworks, and a global AI-in-Government community for knowledge exchange.

The collaboration underscores the Tinubu administration’s commitment to positioning Nigeria as a leader in digital governance across Africa, ensuring that public institutions are well-prepared for the demands of the modern technological era.

Through this partnership, the Federal Government seeks to promote responsible AI use, improve service delivery, and strengthen Nigeria’s global competitiveness in the evolving digital economy.
