The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms are restoring international confidence in the nation’s aviation sector.
The agency credited key policy actions including the clearance of foreign airlines’ trapped funds, infrastructural upgrades, and improved regulatory compliance for reviving foreign interest in Nigeria’s air transport market.
According to the NCAA, resolving the issue of trapped funds has rebuilt trust with global carriers. Air Algérie’s recent launch of direct flights to Lagos and Abuja was cited as proof of renewed confidence.
Nigeria’s compliance with the Cape Town Convention on aircraft leasing has also improved from about 49% to over 70%, enhancing the country’s attractiveness to investors and leasing firms.
While challenges such as infrastructure deficits and airline financial compliance remain, the NCAA believes the government’s reforms are laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth in the aviation industry. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
