Nigeria’s film industry has recorded a significant milestone as AIICO Insurance Plc announced a strategic partnership with production company ComeOnNaija for its upcoming feature film, Iwè Àlà (“The Book of Dreams”). The collaboration was unveiled by ComeOnNaija’s Executive Producer, Olawumi Fajemirokun, during the 2025 edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in Lagos.
Iwè Àlà is an ambitious cultural drama centered on the historic Ojúdé Ọba Festival, one of Nigeria’s most iconic and colorful cultural celebrations. The film aims to deliver a visually rich and deeply immersive interpretation of the festival’s heritage, pageantry, and communal identity. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in November 2025.
AIICO’s investment marks a growing trend of institutional players showing confidence in Nollywood’s commercial and cultural potential. Speaking on the partnership, AIICO’s Marketing and Communications Lead, Segun Olalandu, said the company is committed to supporting “authentic, entertaining storytelling that resonates across generations.” He described Iwè Àlà as a project that aligns with AIICO’s values of cultural preservation and community impact.
