
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has presented a ₦878.15 billion Appropriation Bill for the 2026 fiscal year to the Bauchi State House of Assembly, describing it as a Budget of Consolidation and Sustainability.
The proposed budget allocates ₦567.47 billion (65%) to capital expenditure and ₦310.68 billion (35%) to recurrent spending, reflecting the government’s focus on infrastructure, economic growth, and social development.
Sectoral breakdown shows the economic sector receiving ₦435 billion (49.6%), the largest share of the budget. The social sector follows with ₦310 billion (34.4%), while the administrative sector is allocated ₦120 billion (13.7%). The Law and Justice sector will get ₦12 billion (1.4%).
Governor Mohammed said the budget aims to leverage ongoing national economic reforms to enhance infrastructure, education, agriculture, water supply, and rural development across the state.
Funding is expected from statutory federal allocations, VAT, internally generated revenue, and capital receipts.
