Federal Government Declares October 1 Public Holiday to Mark Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a public holiday to commemorate the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary. The announcement was made on Saturday, following a press release from the Ministry of Interior.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated all Nigerians on the milestone, calling for unity, patriotism, and the collective effort to steer the country toward peace and prosperity. He emphasized the importance of reflecting on the nation’s progress, while also acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead.
