The Senate has confirmed the majority of ambassadorial nominations sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with the exception of the nominee from Yobe State, who passed away.
Among those confirmed are Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); Reno Omokri, former presidential aide; and Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation. All were appointed as non-career ambassadors.
The confirmations mark a key step in filling Nigeria’s diplomatic positions and strengthening the country’s representation abroad.
