Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that no individual or group can push him and his political camp out of Rivers State politics, insisting that his supporters remain firmly rooted in the state’s political landscape.

Wike made the assertion while addressing supporters during a visit to Rivers State, amid ongoing political tensions between his camp and that of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He said those who worked and sacrificed to build political structures in the state would not surrender their influence to what he described as “latecomers.”

The former Rivers governor stressed that his political family remains united and resilient, adding that attempts to sideline them would fail. According to him, political relevance is earned through commitment and loyalty, not by opportunism.

Wike also used the occasion to reiterate his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring that Rivers State would continue to play a key role in backing the President’s administration and future political aspirations.

The remarks come against the backdrop of a prolonged power struggle within Rivers politics, which has deepened divisions within the state’s political elite and drawn national attention.

Despite the tensions, Wike urged his supporters to remain steadfast, saying political challenges are temporary but structures built over years cannot be easily dismantled.
