Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, for their efforts in resettling victims of terror attacks in the state.

Ndume praised the coordinated approach adopted by the Federal Government and the Borno State Government, describing the resettlement programme as a critical step toward restoring dignity, stability and hope to communities displaced by insurgency.

He noted that the provision of housing, security, livelihoods and basic social services to affected persons demonstrated a strong commitment to post-conflict recovery and sustainable peace in the North-East. According to him, the initiative would encourage displaced residents to return to their ancestral homes and rebuild their lives.

The senator also acknowledged Governor Zulum’s consistent engagement with affected communities and President Tinubu’s support for security and humanitarian interventions in the region. He stressed that continued collaboration between federal and state authorities remained essential to consolidating peace and preventing a resurgence of violence.

Ndume urged relevant agencies to sustain the momentum by ensuring adequate funding, security coverage and economic opportunities for resettled families, adding that long-term development was key to ending insurgency in the region.
