Ray J has given a sobering update on his health following a recent hospitalization for pneumonia. During a Jan. 27 Instagram livestream, the 45-year-old rapper admitted that his condition has become life-threatening, even suggesting he may not make it to 2027.

“2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” Ray J said, gesturing to his heart. “This is black. This is, like, done.”

He reflected on the choices that led to his hospitalization, admitting he “almost died” due to excessive alcohol and drug use. “I f—ked up,” he explained. “I think I thought I had more weight. I thought I was big so I could handle all the alcohol, I could handle all the Adderall, I could handle all the drugs—but I couldn’t. It curved my time here.”

Ray J revealed that, prior to the health scare, he was drinking “like four or five bottles a day” and taking “10 Addys.” “I’m like, ‘Ain’t nothing happening to me,’” he continued. “I’m indestructible.”

Earlier in the week, he had shared that his heart is “only beating 25 percent,” though he expressed cautious optimism about his recovery. “As long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right,” he said in a Jan. 25 video. “My health is not OK, so I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me through everything I’ve been in the hospital.”

Fans have flooded social media with messages of support, hoping Ray J takes the necessary steps toward recovery.
