Traders operating at the Onitsha Main Market and several other commercial hubs across the state have committed to putting a stop to the long-standing Monday sit-at-home practice, affirming their readiness to fully reopen for business at the start of the week.

The declaration follows a directive issued by the state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, urging a return to normal economic activities. Market leaders and traders alike expressed confidence that business operations will resume without disruption, signaling a renewed effort to stabilize commerce and protect livelihoods.

The move is expected to restore regular trading schedules, boost economic confidence, and reinforce the state government’s resolve to ensure public safety and uninterrupted commercial activity.
