Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has congratulated women and girls across the country as the world marks International Women’s Day 2026, commending their strength, courage, and contributions to society.
In her message to commemorate the day, the First Lady joined millions of Nigerians and the global community in celebrating the achievements and resilience of women. She noted that this year’s theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” underscores the importance of ensuring women have access to education, healthcare, economic empowerment, leadership opportunities, justice, and equity.
Senator Tinubu stressed that empowering women is not an act of charity but an investment in the nation’s collective future. According to her, when women are given the opportunity to thrive, families grow stronger, communities become more prosperous, and the nation moves closer to inclusiveness and sustainable development. She added that when women rise, Nigeria rises.
