The Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni, has announced the defection of the state’s leadership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mummuni made the announcement on behalf of Governor Dauda Lawal, stating that the decision followed consultations with political stakeholders in the state. The development marks a significant political shift in Zamfara and is expected to strengthen the APC’s presence in the North-West region.
Supporters and party officials described the move as a strategic step aimed at aligning the state with the ruling party at the federal level.
