
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the recent attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State, mourning the lives lost and extending support to the injured. He emphasized solidarity with the people of Borno during this difficult period.
Describing the attacks as “final desperate and frantic attempts” by criminals and terrorist elements, President Tinubu assured that the security forces remain under constant pressure but are actively confronting these threats. He commended the courage of the military and civilian task forces for repelling coordinated attacks on military positions.
The President noted that additional equipment and operational support were approved during a recent security meeting to strengthen the capabilities of security agencies. He also directed security chiefs to move to Maiduguri to manage the situation and instructed emergency agencies to provide proper care for the injured.
President Tinubu affirmed that terrorists will find no safe haven in Nigeria, stressing the government’s commitment to locate, confront, and defeat them. He concluded by declaring that Nigeria will not succumb to fear.
