Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, have dismissed allegations suggesting a plot to depose the traditional ruler, describing the claims as baseless and unfounded.

The allegation was raised by former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, who claimed that Governor Makinde was planning to sanction the Olubadan over his absence at a recent chieftaincy elevation ceremony, a move he suggested could lead to his removal.

The claim generated reactions and speculation about a supposed rift between the Oyo State Government and the Olubadan-in-Council.

However, both the Oyo State Government and the Olubadan Palace have firmly denied the allegation, stating that there is no such plan or conflict.

They described the report as false, misleading, and politically motivated, urging the public to disregard it.

The state government also clarified that it remains committed to respecting and protecting traditional institutions, while the Olubadan Palace reaffirmed that the monarch is focused on his duties and enjoys a cordial relationship with the state government.
