The Federal Government has commenced an induction programme for over 40 ambassador-designates as part of preparations for their deployment to various countries.

The exercise, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is aimed at equipping the envoys with the knowledge and skills required to effectively represent Nigeria on the global stage.

Speaking at the programme, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu charged the diplomats to serve as the “face of Nigeria abroad,” urging them to prioritise economic diplomacy, attract foreign investment, and protect the interests of Nigerians in their host countries.

The induction covers key areas such as trade promotion, security engagement, and consular services, aligning with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The programme is scheduled to conclude on Friday.
