Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at the 2026 Hajj inaugural flight ceremony taking place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The event comes weeks after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed an immediate review of the 2026 Hajj fares following the continued appreciation of the naira against the dollar.

The Vice President is expected to officially flag off the 2026 Hajj airlift operations.

He was received at the venue by the Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo; the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure; and the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Ismail Abba Yusuf, alongside other dignitaries.
