The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has accused a political group allegedly backed by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of illegally using the name and structures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to convene meetings and issue directives.

Wike made the allegation while reacting to recent activities of the group, which he claimed has been presenting itself as acting on behalf of the PDP without proper authorization from the party’s national leadership.

He described the development as unconstitutional and misleading, insisting that no faction or interest group has the right to appropriate the PDP’s identity for political engagements outside established party organs.

According to him, such actions risk deepening internal divisions within the party and could create confusion among members and supporters across the country.

The Minister called on relevant authorities within the party to take immediate steps to address the situation and enforce discipline in line with the PDP’s constitution and internal regulations.
