
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the schedule for the screening of sitting governors seeking re-election as well as those aspiring for Senate seats ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
The screening committee is chaired by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, while the APC National Secretary, Sen. Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Ph.D, serves as Secretary. The committee also includes members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
According to the timetable, the screening exercise for incumbent governors seeking re-election or Senate tickets will take place from Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Plateau State Governors Lodge. Proceedings are scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM on the first day and 10:00 AM on the second day.
Meanwhile, the screening for other governorship aspirants is slated for Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026. It will hold at the NWC Hall of the APC National Secretariat, Abuja, commencing daily at 10:00 AM.
The party said the exercise is part of its internal processes to ensure credible and transparent selection of candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.
