Mutfwang, Wadada, Galadima, Danladi Win APC Governorship Primaries

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, Senator Aliyu Ahmed Wadada of Nasarawa State, Ahmad Tijjani Galadima of Adamawa State, and Speaker Yakubu Danladi-Salihu of Kwara State have emerged as candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 governorship elections.

In Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang secured victory in the APC governorship primary with 233,335 votes out of the 240,832 votes cast. However, his challenger, retired Commodore Yilchin Jan Bida, rejected the process, describing it as undemocratic.

In Nasarawa State, Senator Wadada won the APC governorship ticket with 195,285 votes, defeating former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu, who polled 39,675 votes. Adamu later disputed the outcome, alleging irregularities in the exercise.

Ahmad Tijjani Galadima clinched the APC governorship ticket in Adamawa State after polling 414,444 votes to defeat Abdulrazak Namdas and Abdulrahman Haske. Galadima subsequently called for unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In Kwara State, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, emerged victorious with 94,990 votes following a dramatic shift in support shortly before the primary election.

Also in Yobe State, former Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, defeated six other aspirants to secure the APC governorship ticket, while Governor Hyacinth Alia won the APC governorship primary in Benue State.
