Former Governor Mohammed Abubakar Wins APC Governorship Primary in Bauchi

Former Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections after winning the party’s primary election in the state.

The Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Committee for Bauchi State formally announced the results on Friday, declaring Abubakar winner of the exercise.

According to the results announced, Mohammed Abubakar polled 57,517 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Yusuf Tugga, who secured 26,001 votes, and Bala Wunti, who garnered 13,648 votes.

The primary election was conducted amid tight security and witnessed the participation of party delegates and stakeholders from across the state.

With the victory, Abubakar, popularly known as M.A, will fly the APC flag in the Bauchi State governorship election in 2027.
