The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has clarified that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not approve any new operators for airtime credit services in Nigeria, dismissing circulating claims suggesting otherwise.
According to the Commission, the information making the rounds is misleading and should be disregarded by the public. It stressed that no such presidential approval has been granted for the introduction of additional airtime credit operators into the telecommunications value chain.
The FCCPC further urged consumers to rely only on verified official statements from relevant government agencies in order to avoid being misled by false or unverified reports.
