President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Muhammad Ali, on the occasion of his 60th birthday on June 7.
The President described Ali, a distinguished journalist and administrator, as a professional who has brought extensive experience, skills, and an influential network to further strengthen the mandate of the nation’s foremost news agency.
President Tinubu noted the Managing Director’s efforts in bridging the gap among citizens, the private sector, and government through strategic coverage of national and international events, as well as the promotion of specialised reporting on key sectors and programmes.
He also commended NAN under Ali’s leadership for maintaining consistency in news gathering and for strengthening collaboration with multilateral institutions, foreign news agencies, and media platforms, noting that these efforts have enhanced Nigeria’s image and helped in curbing the spread of fake news, particularly through online engagement.
The President further praised the management and staff of the agency for sustaining the mandate of Africa’s leading news agency, while wishing Ali continued good health, strength, and wisdom for more years of meritorious service to the nation.
