


The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has joined top security leaders at the Fourth Nigeria–United Kingdom Security and Defence Partnership Dialogue held in Abuja.
The meeting was also attended by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police and other senior security officials.
The high-level engagement was co-chaired by Nigeria’s National Security Adviser and the United Kingdom National Security Adviser, Jonathan Powell, and focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in addressing evolving security challenges and advancing mutual strategic interests.
Discussions at the dialogue centred on enhancing defence collaboration, capacity building, intelligence sharing and regional security cooperation between both countries.
Participants reaffirmed the importance of the long-standing partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom in supporting efforts to combat security threats and promote stability in the region.
The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to working with both national and international partners to strengthen security, safeguard territorial integrity and support the Federal Government’s national security objectives.
