The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria recorded significant operational successes across various theatres of operation, rescuing 68 kidnapped victims and recovering 148,500 litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, during coordinated military operations nationwide.

The DHQ disclosed that the operations also led to the neutralisation of several terrorists and other criminal elements, as troops intensified offensives against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, crude oil theft, and other security threats across the country.

According to the military, security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, motorcycles, vehicles, communication gadgets, and other logistics used by criminal groups. Troops also dismantled illegal refining sites and disrupted oil theft activities, leading to the recovery of the large volume of illegally obtained AGO.

The military noted that the achievements reflect sustained efforts to degrade the operational capabilities of terrorists and criminal networks while enhancing the safety of communities affected by insecurity.

Reaffirming its commitment to protecting lives and property, the DHQ said troops would continue aggressive operations against criminal elements in collaboration with other security agencies. It also urged members of the public to support ongoing efforts by providing timely and credible intelligence to security authorities.

The latest successes underscore the military’s determination to sustain pressure on criminal groups and strengthen security across the country. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
