2027: Salihu’s emergence as Kwara APC guber candidate excites lawmaker

A member of the House of Representatives representing Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Dr. Ahmed Adamu Saba, has described the emergence of the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election as a positive and historic development for the state.

Saba commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for what he described as their leadership role in ensuring the zoning arrangement that produced the APC flag bearer from Kwara North.

According to him, the decision reflects fairness, inclusiveness, and will strengthen unity within the party, while also giving the people of Kwara North a stronger sense of belonging in the state’s political structure.

He noted that Salihu’s emergence has energized supporters within the APC and expressed confidence that the party is well positioned for victory in the 2027 general elections.

The lawmaker further urged party members to remain united and support the governorship candidate to consolidate on the achievements of the present administration in the state.

Meanwhile, reactions within the party have remained mixed, as some stakeholders have also raised concerns over the process that produced the candidate, calling for broader consultation and unity ahead of the election.
