The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ogun State, Oluwatoyin Babalola, has called on eligible Nigerians to register as voters and actively participate in future elections, stressing that democratic governance can only thrive when citizens exercise their voting rights.

Speaking during a voter education and sensitisation programme, Babalola urged Nigerians, particularly youths and first-time voters, to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and prepare to participate in future electoral processes.

She noted that voter registration is not only a constitutional right but also a civic responsibility that enables citizens to influence leadership and national development through the ballot.

The Ogun REC further encouraged registered voters to update or transfer their voter registration details where necessary to ensure they remain eligible to vote in subsequent elections.

Babalola reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to deepening voter education and promoting greater public participation in the electoral process, urging Nigerians to seize every opportunity to register and contribute to strengthening the country’s democracy. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
