In a significant cabinet shake-up, President Bola Tinubu has dismissed five key ministers from his administration. The ministers relieved of their duties include Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs; Lola Ade-John, the Minister of Tourism; Jamila Bio Ibrahim, the Minister of Youth Development; Tahir Mamman, the Minister of Education; and Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development.

The decision, which has sparked widespread reactions, comes as part of Tinubu’s efforts to restructure his cabinet amid growing expectations for enhanced governance and public service delivery. The reasons for the dismissal of these ministers have not been officially disclosed, but the reshuffle is seen as part of the president’s strategy to reposition his administration for better performance.

The affected ministries are critical to Nigeria’s development agenda, and their leadership changes are expected to bring new directions in women’s affairs, tourism, youth development, education, and housing. Tinubu’s administration now faces the task of appointing new ministers who will drive these sectors forward in line with his vision for Nigeria’s future.
