Suspected Gunmen Kill Community Leader in Plateau

A community leader, Daniel Pulle, has been killed in a fresh attack by suspected gunmen in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, deepening concerns over the persistent insecurity in the state.

According to reports, the 58-year-old community leader was ambushed and shot dead on Sunday evening while returning home on his motorcycle near a bridge leading to Gana-Ropp community in Ropp District.

In a related development, Deborah Benjamin Kak, who sustained gunshot injuries during an earlier attack on Lwa village in Riyom Local Government Area, later died while receiving treatment at the Jos University Teaching Hospital.

Community leaders and youth groups condemned the killings, describing the attacks as part of a growing wave of violence affecting communities across Plateau State. They called on security agencies and the government to intensify efforts to protect lives and bring the perpetrators to justice.
