OSGF Honours Outstanding Staff, Donates Sports Kits to Promote Wellness

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has honoured outstanding members of staff for their dedication, professionalism and contributions to effective service delivery as part of activities marking the 2026 Civil Service Week celebration.

Speaking at the Staff Award and Recognition Ceremony held in Abuja, the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, commended the award recipients for their commitment to duty, describing them as examples of hard work, integrity and excellence.

Dr. Kana said the recognition was designed to celebrate exceptional performance and encourage other members of staff to strive for greater achievements in service delivery.

He noted that every staff member plays an important role in the success of the Office, but the awards were aimed at highlighting individuals who have distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions.

As part of efforts to promote staff welfare and healthy living, the Permanent Secretary announced the donation of 400 tracksuits to the OSGF Sports Club to support sporting activities among employees.

He said the initiative was aimed at encouraging physical fitness, teamwork and stronger relationships among staff, adding that sports help reduce stress and improve productivity.

In his goodwill message, the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Dr. John Chidiebere Ezeamama, said excellence in public service should always be recognised and celebrated.

He commended staff members for their dedication to ensuring effective delivery of the OSGF mandate and encouraged them to maintain professionalism and commitment.

Earlier, the Director of Human Resource Management, Mr. Surajo Salisu Usman, said six outstanding officers from various departments were selected through a transparent process based on their exemplary performance and dedication to duty.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Richard Enyichi Chigbu, appreciated the recognition and pledged that the awards would motivate them to continue serving with greater diligence and commitment.
