UK Announces Visa Application Service Transition in Nigeria

Share

The United Kingdom Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has announced a significant transition in visa application services in Nigeria, moving from TLScontact to VFS Global as its official commercial partner. This change is part of a broader global shift and will take effect on November 19, 2024.

According to a statement from the UK government, visa application centres (VACs) are operated by commercial partners who manage application processes on behalf of UKVI. This transition will occur in phases, with Nigeria being one of the last regions to switch to VFS Global. Other countries, including Cyprus (North), France, Iraq, and Ukraine, will begin their transitions on November 5, 2024.

With this transition, applicants may find themselves beginning their application process with TLScontact and needing to complete it with VFS Global. This requires prospective visa seekers to remain vigilant and adaptable. The UK government has advised applicants to monitor their emails closely, as affected individuals will receive communications from both TLScontact and VFS Global. It is crucial that applicants verify the authenticity of these emails, ensuring they are from addresses ending in @tlscontact.com or @vfsglobal.com.

In addition, applicants who have already paid the mandatory User Pay (MUP) fees to TLScontact may need to pay again if their appointments are switched to VFS Global. Changes will also affect the addresses and operating hours of some VACs; however, the decision-making process and the duration for receiving a visa decision will remain unchanged.

The UK government emphasizes the importance of attending appointments and staying informed during this transition, urging applicants to prepare for potential adjustments in the application process.

I want to be sure if this transitioning really affect that because you are saying it wouldn’t affect processing time
