
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting suitably qualified Nigerians to apply for various entry-level positions on Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12.
According to the Commission, the recruitment is aimed at strengthening its institutional capacity in electoral administration, voter registration, data management, election logistics and other critical electoral operations across the country.
Available positions include Professional Cadre roles for lawyers, engineers, accountants, information technology officers, clinical officers and other qualified professionals, as well as Administrative Officer II (Registration Area Officer) and Executive Officer (Assistant Registration Area Officer).
INEC stated that applicants must be Nigerian citizens, medically fit, computer literate, of good character and not more than 35 years of age at the time of application. Candidates are also required to possess the relevant academic qualifications, NYSC certification where applicable, and a valid Certificate of State of Origin.
The Commission noted that successful applicants must be willing to serve in any part of the Federation and demonstrate integrity, discipline and commitment to public service.
Interested candidates are required to complete and submit their applications online through the official INEC recruitment portal between Monday, 20 July 2026, and Monday, 27 July 2026.
INEC emphasised that the recruitment exercise is free of charge, warning applicants against submitting false information or forged documents, which could result in disqualification and possible prosecution. Only shortlisted candidates will proceed to the next stage of the recruitment process.
