Relief has come to the family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, following the rescue of his younger sister, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, and her 12-year-old twin sons after their abduction in Ibadan.
Mrs. John-Paul and her sons, Peter and Paul, were kidnapped on June 3 while she was reportedly driving the children to school in the Challenge area of Ibadan. Armed men intercepted their vehicle and whisked them away to an unknown location, prompting an intensive search by security agencies.
The abduction sparked concern across Oyo State, with family members, political associates, and residents calling for swift action to secure the victims’ release. In response, police authorities deployed tactical teams and launched a coordinated operation to track down the kidnappers.
According to reports, the victims were rescued during a security operation that forced the abductors to abandon them and flee. Mrs. John-Paul and her sons were subsequently reunited with their family, while efforts continue to apprehend the suspects behind the crime.
The incident has once again drawn attention to the challenge of kidnapping and insecurity in parts of the state, with residents urging authorities to intensify measures aimed at protecting lives and property.
