The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has confirmed it is currently reviewing a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorised access to limited aspects of its information systems.

In a public notice issued on April 15, 2026, the Commission said it promptly activated its incident response protocols upon detection of the breach and is working closely with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), alongside other relevant government agencies and partners, to determine the scope and impact of the incident.

According to the statement, containment measures have already been implemented, with additional safeguards introduced to strengthen system security while investigations continue.

The Commission also advised stakeholders to regularly monitor their records on the CAC portal, update their login credentials, and remain vigilant against unsolicited or suspicious communications.

It reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity and security of Nigeria’s corporate registry and assured that further updates will be communicated as the review progresses.
