Enugu Government Praises Security Agencies Over Major Arms Cache Bust

The Enugu State Government has commended the combined efforts of the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Police Force following the discovery of a suspected arms cache linked to the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The operation, carried out in Enugu South Local Government Area, was the result of coordinated intelligence-led action by the security agencies. Officials reported that the hideout was concealed within a structure disguised as a piggery.

During the raid, security operatives reportedly recovered a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition, including rifles, machine guns, an RPG tube, grenades, magazines, and hundreds of rounds of live ammunition.

State authorities praised the successful operation, describing it as a major step in ongoing efforts to curb insecurity and criminal activity within the state. The government also highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration in achieving effective security outcomes.
