
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two men in possession of 250 live cartridges during an intelligence-led operation in the state.
The suspects, identified as Ganiyu Sodiq (35) and Salaudeen Sheriff (23), were apprehended on June 10, 2026, at Budo Pako in the Oke-Oyan area of Itesiwaju Local Government Area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the ammunition was recovered from the suspects during a stop-and-search operation, and they were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for its possession.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects may be involved in the illegal movement or supply of ammunition, potentially linked to criminal activities within and outside the state.
