The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate deployment of a senior police team alongside specialised tactical units to Plateau State following renewed waves of violent attacks in several communities across the state.
The directive, announced by the Nigeria Police Force, includes the deployment of an Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) who will oversee coordinated security operations in the affected areas.
The operation also involves the mobilisation of elite tactical teams, intelligence officers, and rapid response units tasked with restoring stability and preventing further escalation of violence.
According to the police authorities, the decision was taken in response to recent killings that have resulted in the loss of lives, destruction of property, and displacement of residents in parts of Plateau State.
