President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe as Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The appointment is expected to strengthen the leadership and oversight functions of the commission, which is responsible for regulating and coordinating university education in Nigeria.

Professor Ogundipe is a renowned academic and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, with decades of experience in higher education administration and research.

His appointment comes as the Federal Government continues efforts to improve the quality, accessibility and global competitiveness of Nigeria’s university system.

The National Universities Commission plays a key role in accreditation, quality assurance, policy implementation and the overall development of tertiary education in the country.
