The Department of State Services (DSS) has closed its case against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the ongoing alleged wiretapping trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
During the proceedings, the prosecution presented its witnesses and evidence in support of the allegations against the former governor.
Following the conclusion of the prosecution’s case, El-Rufai’s legal team indicated its intention to file a no-case submission, arguing that the evidence presented does not warrant him entering a defence.
The case is linked to comments allegedly made by El-Rufai regarding a telephone conversation involving the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The court is expected to consider the no-case submission and determine whether the former governor has a case to answer or whether the matter should be dismissed.
The trial continues to attract public attention due to the high-profile personalities involved and its potential political and legal implications.
