INEC Begins Candidate Upload Process, APC Warns Against Fake Nomination List

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the release of access codes to political parties, enabling them to upload the names and credentials of their candidates for the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

The commission had earlier postponed the release of the codes from June 26 to June 29 to ensure a seamless nomination process. The access codes are required for political parties to complete the electronic submission of candidates’ nomination forms through INEC’s dedicated portal.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a list circulating on social media, claiming it contains the names of the party’s candidates who emerged from its recent primaries.

In a statement, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka described the document as fake, unauthorized, and misleading, urging party members and the general public to disregard it. The party maintained that only official communications from its national leadership should be considered authentic.

The development comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 elections. While the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has already distributed nomination forms and certificates of return to its candidates, parties are expected to finalize and upload their candidates’ details to the INEC portal within the stipulated timeline.

INEC’s release of the access codes marks a significant milestone in the electoral timetable, paving the way for the formal submission and verification of candidates ahead of the next phase of the election process. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
