
Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued six abductees during a clearance operation in Unguwan Doka, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The operation was carried out by troops of the 17 Brigade under Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA as part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating across the North-West.
According to the Army, the kidnappers abandoned the victims and fled following intense military pressure.
The rescued victims were identified as Umaima Isiaku (30), Amina Isiaku (25), Fatima Saidu (22), Huzaima Nasiru (16), one-year-old Usman Surajo, and 18-month-old Dauda Isiaku.
The victims disclosed that they were abducted on March 11, 2026, along the Tsafe–Bilbis Road in Tsafe Local Government Area while travelling to Bilbis village. They spent more than three months in captivity before regaining their freedom.
Military authorities said the victims have received immediate medical attention and humanitarian support, while efforts are underway to reunite them with their families.
