The Neo-Black Movement (NBM) of Africa Worldwide has urged the Federal Government to deploy military personnel and other security operatives to schools across Nigeria, particularly those located in remote and high-risk communities, to protect students and teachers from kidnappers and terrorist attacks.
The call was made during a world press conference held in Asaba, where the group’s Body of Founders (BOF) expressed concern over the growing wave of abductions, killings, and attacks targeting educational institutions nationwide. The organization described the trend as a serious threat to Nigeria’s educational development and national future.
Speaking on the theme “Bring Back Our Children and Teachers,” BOF Coordinator Akpo Bodunrin Diekomaoh said Nigerian children deserve to learn in a safe environment free from fear, violence, and intimidation. He warned that continued attacks on schools could have long-term consequences for social stability and national growth.
Diekomaoh also called on government authorities to intensify efforts toward securing the release of all abducted students and teachers still in captivity. He further urged security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering and adopt more proactive measures to safeguard vulnerable communities and educational institutions.
The appeal comes amid renewed concerns over school kidnappings and attacks in several parts of the country, incidents that have heightened public anxiety and prompted widespread calls for stronger security measures to protect students and educators.
NBM maintained that ensuring the safety of schools is essential to protecting the nation’s future, stressing that uninterrupted access to education remains critical to Nigeria’s social and economic development. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
