The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo, at her residence in Owode-Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Speaking while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, disclosed that the principal suspect, 22-year-old Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, allegedly confessed to masterminding the attack. According to the police, the suspect claimed he carried out the crime over grievances related to poor remuneration during his time as a security guard in the deceased’s employment.

Investigations revealed that Philip allegedly recruited two accomplices — Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36 — to execute the attack. Police said the suspects first overpowered the security guard before gaining access to the residence, where both victims were subsequently killed.

The Commissioner of Police stated that the arrests followed intelligence gathering, technical tracking, and forensic investigations. Detectives also recovered items believed to be linked to the crime, including a broken hammer, a cutlass, a plank, and a black pen.

The victims were found dead at Oyesiku’s residence on June 21, prompting a full-scale police investigation. A vehicle belonging to the former broadcaster, which was reported missing after the incident, was later recovered by investigators.

Police authorities assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that all individuals connected to the crime will be brought to justice. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
